{"id":230,"date":"2022-10-18T08:38:04","date_gmt":"2022-10-18T07:38:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/support.servicesight.com\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=230"},"modified":"2023-08-24T12:33:57","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T11:33:57","slug":"adding-engineers","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/support.servicesight.com\/us\/knowledge-base\/adding-engineers\/","title":{"rendered":"Adding Engineers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In ServiceSight you can create Engineer records so that you can plan their work, send them jobs &amp; messages and see their productivity &amp; utilisation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adding Engineers that have access to the mobile application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3157\" src=\"https:\/\/support.servicesight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/Adding-the-engineer.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1417\" height=\"753\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the \u2018Settings\u2019 link in the top right-hand area of the system<\/li>\n<li>Then in the menu that opens on the left, select General | Employees<\/li>\n<li>The list of current employees opens. Click the green \u2018Add Employee\u2019 button on the right<\/li>\n<li>Add the engineer\u2019s name. The Status field will default to \u2018Active\u2019. You can use this feature to de-activate users if the need arises later<\/li>\n<li>Enter the engineer\u2019s initials. These will be used as a placeholder avatar until you have uploaded a picture<\/li>\n<li>There are two reference fields here that you can utilise if needed but are not required fields<\/li>\n<li>Enter a mobile number for the engineer if available<\/li>\n<li>Click the Login tab to proceed with setting up this engineer\u2019s usage of the system<\/li>\n<li>Tick \u2018This user is an engineer\u2019 &amp; \u2018Allow mobile engineer app login\u2019 (This not only flags this employee as an engineer \u2013 so they will appear on the Planner board &amp; Planner map \u2013 but also that they will be using the mobile app for receiving &amp; completing jobs)<\/li>\n<li>Select a security role from the \u2018Role performed\u2019 drop-down list &amp; a \u2018Job controller\u2019<\/li>\n<li>As this employee will be logging into the mobile app, enter their email address (This is important as it will serve as their log in name for the app but also be used to send them the invitation to log in the ServiceSight for the first time)<\/li>\n<li>You can also add a photo of the engineer if you wish by clicking the Photo tab and \u2018Choose file\u2019. (The images must be jpeg or bmp format)<\/li>\n<li>Click the green \u2018Save\u2019 button to see your uploaded logo<\/li>\n<li>You can remove the photo at any time in this same screen by clicking \u2018Delete Photo\u2019 or it can be replaced simply by selecting a new image in the same manner as the original<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adding Engineers tha<\/strong><strong>t do not have access to the mobile application<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3159\" src=\"https:\/\/support.servicesight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/Engineer-no-PDA.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"1417\" height=\"753\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the \u2018Settings\u2019 link alongside your avatar in the top right-hand area of the system<\/li>\n<li>Then, in the menu that opens on the left, select General | Employees<\/li>\n<li>The list of current employees opens.
