{"id":304,"date":"2017-06-27T07:50:37","date_gmt":"2017-06-27T07:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/support.servicesight.com\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=304"},"modified":"2023-08-24T12:37:10","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T11:37:10","slug":"notifications","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/support.servicesight.com\/us\/knowledge-base\/notifications\/","title":{"rendered":"Notifications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When the system needs to let you know that an office user or engineer has sent you a message, or the system needs to remind you of an event or task you have set up as a reminder this happens through notifications.<\/p>\n<p>You will see notifications arrive by the number in the orange circle next to your avatar picture increasing by one. In the screenshot below we can see that I have 3 notifications.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/proteansoftware-my.sharepoint.com\/personal\/supportsystem_proteansoftware_co_uk\/_layouts\/15\/guestaccess.aspx?docid=0cfcbe3c9649541ef8f75100a57849128&amp;authkey=AWjLhKObTyaSaiZzUZ4Y1dE\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clicking on notifications will open a pop-out list.<\/li>\n<li>This list contains messages or reminders that have come in and allows you to interact with these items straight from the notifications pop-out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Messages<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/proteansoftware-my.sharepoint.com\/personal\/supportsystem_proteansoftware_co_uk\/_layouts\/15\/guestaccess.aspx?docid=0ffe3666e1a8a4853880ace17dad32bac&amp;authkey=AVjCmgwCuWQyKWJFxw4tkEA\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A message notification will show the sender &amp; the subject line of the message.<\/li>\n<li>Clicking on the notification will open the message so that you can read it.<\/li>\n<li>Hovering your mouse over the message notification will show two further functions \u2013 \u2018mark as read\u2019 and \u2018reply\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Clicking \u2018mark as read\u2019 will update the status of the message to \u2018read\u2019 and remove the notification.<\/li>\n<li>Clicking \u2018reply\u2019 will open the messages screen and allow you to start typing a reply.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reminders<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/proteansoftware-my.sharepoint.com\/personal\/supportsystem_proteansoftware_co_uk\/_layouts\/15\/guestaccess.aspx?docid=0acfac3d80bb34e8e81745f7dab7eba98&amp;authkey=AZYZf-emHj5RF66WDtW2s4s\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A reminder notification shows the reminder type as well as the due date &amp; time of the reminder.<\/li>\n<li>Clicking on the notification will open the reminder screen to show you the detail of the reminder.<\/li>\n<li>Hovering your mouse over the reminder displays two further options \u2013 \u2018Dismiss Reminder\u2019 and \u2018Snooze Reminder\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>Clicking \u2018Dismiss Reminder\u2019 will remove the notification and not remind you of this again.<\/li>\n<li>Clicking \u2018Snooze\u2019 will remove the notification for a period of time.
