ServiceSight allows you to capture every minute of an engineer’s day by using activities to record their time when not travelling to (or from) a job or working on site. Activities can range from doctors appointments, to collecting parts or even just a lunch break. Activities can be created in the office system on the planner board or on the mobile app by the engineer’s themselves. To help in categorising these activities you can create Activity types, with default options & colours.
- To add an activity type simply go to Settings | Job | Activity types.
- Click ‘Settings’ by your avatar in the top right-hand corner, then select Job from the list that opens on the left. Then choose Activity types to open the list of previously defined types. You can select an existing item to edit by clicking on it in the list if needed.
- Click the green ‘New activity type’ button to create a new one.
- The ‘New activity type’ screen opens.
- Enter the description for this new type e.g. Workshop Duties, Travel Time Etc
- Next, select the colour you want activities of this type to be on the planner board & planner map. To do this click onto the light-blue coloured field and then the desired colour from the colour box that appears.
- Then, using the tick boxes choose whether this activity type is work related and/or a paid activity.
- Finally you can choose whether this activity type should show the engineer’s time as ‘out of office’
- Once you have made you selections click the green ‘Save’ button to create this new type and save your entries.
- To create further Activity types simply click the Activity types option on the left-hand menu again to return to the list of types. Then use the green ‘New activity type’ button. If you have finished creating activity types simply navigate away from this form by choosing the correct option on the main menu bar.
